Modeling a Nissan Skyline GTR R34 – Day One.

So the other day I started the ambitious task of modeling a car. I’ve never attempted to model a car so I was obviously very excited aswell as nervous! I mean, I’ve “attempted” them before; but they usually fail before I can even finish the hood. So this time I chose a car that I really love –The Nissan Skyline GTR.

So after a long day of modeling (yes I’m a slow modeler I know!) here’s what I’ve come up with

The car is colored funky so I can easily see the separate meshes when I’m working with it. I know there’s some funky tris above the wheel… yes I plan to work them out though. Here’s what the mesh looks like after I apply hypernurbs

So not a ton done, but it’s only my first day. I’ll be posting progress every day that I work on it (not guaranteeing I’ll be working on it every day, but I’ll try!)

Let me know how it’s looking so far and if there’s anything that you see wrong with my mesh so far. Since it is my first car model it probably doesn’t have the ideal topology, but don’t think it has bad topology.

Ok well, bye!

weeww, nice dude. sometimes it get really hard to manage with sharp edge or sharp vertex when u smooth ur model, like the one next to the lamp there. (i used 3dsmax)..

There is noticeably a bundle to know about this. I assume you made certain nice points in features also.
