Love skinning programs and making them your own? Well with MyChrome you can skin chrome however you’d like! You may of noticed that you could install themes, but after some research you’ve probably come to realize that all the skinning programs are for windows only. Well never fear, cause I’ve noticed too! And I came to change that! So I present to you…. MyChrome!
MyChrome is a fully featured chrome theme creator! Although it’s in it’s very infantile beta stage, it’s still fully functional! You can change everything from the top bar style, tab styles, to the new tab background color and most visited buttons!

Pretty snazzy huh? Using the application is fairly self explanatory, and if there’s something you don’t understand there’s descriptions under most options!

Requirements:

I just downloaded the file, and I got an error message: “You cannot use this version of the application MyChrome(BETA) with this version of Mac OS X.” I’m running 10.5.8.
Unfortunately MyChrome doesn’t work in 10.5, it only works with 10.6. I forgot to mention it in my post, I’ll update it now.
When I release the non beta I’ll try and compile it to work with 10.5 also.
Hey I Created My Theme and I Don’t Know How To Import it into chrome so that i can use it.
How Do I Do That

Simply double click on the .crx file it exported. Then once chrome loads it should show (on the bottom of the window) a security warning. Just accept it and it’ll install.

i cant seem to figure out how to get my theme into the actual browser. i read the post above but when i click compile theme there dosent seem to be a .crx file only a folder with the pictures i selected
help would be greatly appreciated :S

It seems there’s problems on computers that don’t have certain components installed. Because of this I’m releasing another version of MyChrome with a proper installer. Please keep checking for updates! It should be live in a few hours!

hey i downloaded the path (1.1) and sorry to say put the 1.1 install package wont install. :S
Hmm what does it say? Any errors? Also what version of OS X are you using?

It should work.
i downloaded the zip file of the net, opens a folder containing the readme file, the 1.1 installer and my chrome beta. i open the installer and does what it has to do and at the end it just says installation failed. and thats all. :S
im running the newest version of OSX (snow leopard) 10.6.0
Try running mychrome and see if the theme compiles. If it doesnt compile I’ll release another patch that will def work :/

Can you make your own buttons with MyChrome or just backgrounds?
I’ll be repatching tonight. In about 12 hours there should be another patch.
Also the best way to see what all you can change is to download the iGaret theme. It was made using mychrome.
why does my theme cant be compile ?
i just wanted to know, how r u compiling the theme, are you using the chrome installed or are you doing it manually? I just wanted to know this as i am also developing one for win & linux!
I created a terminal application to compile the crx file from the folder. The actual skin is nothing but a few JSON files.
